AMU Spring Panel Series

Aix-Marseilles Université will host a series of panel discussions. The seven events, which will take place throughout March 2021, will cover Jus Gentium and Inter-American Human Rights and will be partly in French and partly in English.

The events will be: 

  • The Inter-Americn System of Protection of Human Rights: Achievements and Challenges with Prof. Claudio Grossman - Former member of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and Special Rapporteur of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) on the rights of women and the rights of indigenous populations. (March 2nd 18:00-20:00 CET)
     
  • L'Organisation des États Américains et les élections boliviennes en 2019 avec Dr Guillame Long - Ancien Ministre des Affaires Étrangères et de la Mobilité Humanine de l'Équateur et Ancien Représentant permanent de l'Équateur auc Nations Unies (Mars 4 de 18:00 à 20:00)

  • Human Rights Defenders and Precautionary Measures within the Inter-American Human Rights System with Francisco Quintana - Program Director for the Andean, North America and Caribbean Region at the Center for Justices and International Law (CEJIL) (March 10th 18:00-20:00 CET)
     
  • Enfroced Disappearances from the Perspective of Economic, Social and Cultrural Rights: Advances and Gaps in Inter-American Jurisprudence with Prog Ariel E. Dulitzky - Former Chairman of the Working Group on Enforce or Involuntary Disappearances and Former Deputy Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) (March 18th 18:00-20:00 CET)
     
  • The Interdisciplinary Groups of Independent Experts as Actors in the Protection of Human Rights in the Inter-American System with Francisco Cox - Lawyer and Director of the Inter-disciplinary Group of Indepent Experts (GIEI) of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (March 23rd 18:00-20:00 CET)
     
  • Indignious Peoples and the Inter-American Human Rights System with Salvador Herencia Carrasco - Human Rights Legal Advisor of the Justice Ministry of Peru, Expert for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia, and Director of the Human Rights Clinic at Human Rights Research and Education Center (March 25th 18:00-20:00 CET)
