Student Highlight: Martina Manzari and her Internship with UN DESA

During her third semester, Martina undertook an internship in New York at UN DESA in the Division for Public Administration and Digital Governance. While there, she contributed to the E-government Survey 2022 by carrying out a comparative study of States' progress in digital innovation to leave no one behind. Meanwhile, she worked on an independent research project to explore how governments might increase their institutional resilience and guarantee services to vulnerable citizens in the context of natural disasters and armed conflicts through digital technologies.

Both these works were published and can be found here and here

She stated, “Looking back at the last two years, I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I encountered after joining the NOHA Network. Many of my dreams become true, allowing me to enrich my professional path and build strong competencies to enter the humanitarian world.” The Uppsala and Bochum alumna is now focusing on her thesis on localisation and power shifting in the humanitarian sector.

Great work, Martina!
