Please read these terms and conditions carefully before applying for a NOHA event or short-term course.

Contents

1. Application procedure
2. Confirmation of attendance
3. Insurance
4. Payment of course fees
5. Cancellation or changes of events by NOHA
6. Visa applications
7. Data protection and use of personal data

Please note that these terms and conditions apply to all NOHA events and short-term courses. They do not apply to the NOHA Joint Masters in International Humanitarian Action, for which there is a specific set of terms and conditions.

1. Application procedure

All applicants must complete the online application form for the NOHA course or event. You will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt upon completion of the form. Applications are assessed against the specific course participation criteria. NOHA will notify applicants of the acceptance or rejection of their application or, if insufficient information was provided in the application form, request further information. You are not registered for a training course until you receive notification of acceptance and fees are paid, when applicable.

2. Confirmation of attendance

Accepted applicants will receive an official acceptance email, to which they must reply to confirm their attendance. If the applicant fails to confirm attendance, NOHA reserves the right to admit another applicant in his/ her place.

3. Insurance

Please note that NOHA aisbl does not provide travel and medical insurance for short-term courses and events. It is therefore highly recommended that participants obtain basic travel and medical insurance coverage before their participation to the course / event.

4. Payment of course fees

Applicants will be officially registered to the course once the fees have been paid in full. Fees should be made payable to “NOHA aisbl” and at the moment can be settled only via bank transfer to:

Account holder: NOHA AISBL
Account number: 751-2071438-43
IBAN: BE66 7512 0714 3843
BIC-code: AXABBE22
Bank: AXA, Ag. Dossin – D. St-George 13-15, BE-1050, Brussel, Belgium

Please use the name of the applicant as a reference together with the name of the course / event so we can track the payment and avoid delays in processing your application.

Please note that you should bear all fees and charges related to the bank transfer.

Please send a copy of the bank advice notice to apply@nohanet.org with full details of the bank transfer, i.e. date transferred, amount, source of bank transaction. Providing this information is important as without it we may not be able to trace your payment; this could result in a delay in you receiving final confirmation.

Please note that fees are not normally refundable. Fees may be refunded only under particular circumstances such as valid medical or personal reasons. The appearance and the relevance of those reasons must be documented in writing.

5. Cancellation or changes of events by NOHA

NOHA reserves the right to change details of course / events published in its website.

If a course has to be cancelled, all participants will be informed at least two weeks before the course is due to take place. NOHA will reimburse all course fees paid or, upon agreement with the participant, transfer the fees to a later training course.

If the dates of a course have to be changed, applicants may request a full refund if the new dates are not convenient or request a transfer to a different training course.

Apart from course fees, we are unable to compensate for any other costs incurred, such as flights and accommodation.

6. Visa applications

NOHA events and courses are held in many locations across the world, so it is sometimes necessary for participants to obtain a visitor visa in order to attend. For entry into some regions, the visa application process can take up to six weeks. We therefore suggest that participants contact the relevant visa authorities as soon as possible to obtain their visa before travelling.

Important note: NOHA aisbl does not provide a visa service and cannot obtain visas on your behalf. The responsibility and associated risks for this are entirely on the participants.

If needed, NOHA will provide you with a support letter for the relevant Embassy or consulate, confirming you have been selected to participate in the course and indicating the place and date of the course / event. Such a confirmation will be issued only once participation fee is covered.

7. Data protection and use of personal data

NOHA will add your contact details to a confidential and secure participant database. The database holds information about students and participants in order to manage recruitment, admission, registration, study, examination, graduation and other student / participant services. Information is passed between NOHA aisbl and various NOHA universities and/or partner organisations involved in the training delivery for operational reasons only.
